Emese Vas - Violin

Ms. Emese Vas is from Kecskemet, Hungary, birthplace of the famous Hungarian composer, Zoltan Kodaly. She received her introductory music studies at the Kodaly Elementary and High School of Music as a student of Mrs. Marta Horvath and the late Mr. Tamas Keszthelyi. She credits her alma mater with obtaining her fundamental music skills and knowledge through daily immersions of music lessons!

Ms Vas attended the Franz Liszt Academy of Music from 1990 to 1995 in Debrecen, Hungary. Throughout her college years she performed with the Bardos Choir of Girls' in the Czech Republic, Germany and Italy. Upon graduation she received her Teaching Diploma, equivalent to Master's Degree in Music Education.

In 1996 Ms. Vas accepted a violin teaching position at the Music Learning Center in Danbury, CT. Her first experience in the United States confirmed her belief in the purpose of teaching; “Music belongs to everyone”(Kodaly).

In 1999 Ms. Vas relocated to the South where she continued teaching violin privately and studied with Mrs. Valerie Gardner. She participated in several productions of the Young Harris College Musical Theatre, and the Haywood Arts Regional Theatre.

Ms. Vas performs locally with the Chestnut Mountain Presbyterian Church Orchestra and the Lanier Chamber Singers.
